The solid target used to study the nuclear reactions occurring in the stars contain ‘’light’’ elements such as carbon, nitrogen, oxygen or sodium. Isotopes are variants of the same element that differ by the number of neutrons. The three stable oxygen isotopes in liquid state are used for the preparation of oxygen targets.
